The room was nice, a good size, comfortable bed with many pillows, closet to hang clothes. The breakfast was just cheese in a bun, plus yogurt & a cheap granola bar - but it was very helpful that it was ready to go in the morning. Avg. price/night: R$ 124 8. 3 Very good 182 reviews Very clean place with nice and clean beds and hot showers. Perfect after a couple days of hiking! Very central location right next to the train station and very good breakfast included. Quiet at night, so you can actually sleep before/after Machu Picchu. Can only recommend. How To Get To Machu Picchu On A Budget
Buy the tickets at least 2 days in advance You can buy the tickets in Cusco, at the Ministerio de Cultura at San Francisco plaza. I recommend that you do the reservation online and then you can just pick them up in their office (and pay of course). You will pay S152 (45$;40, 1€) per ticket, they charge you a bit extra if you pay with the card. It is super easy, we recommend you buying the 6 am tickets, its the less crowdy and also a good timing if you don't have time to spend two nights in Aguas Calientes. You have 3 options to reach Aguas Calientes: With a train The train is the most expensive one, but the most comfortable. You can take the train to Aguas Calientes (the closest town to Macchu Picchu) from Cusco, the ride takes around 2 hours and the cheapest tickets are from 70$ up. When we were there a one-way ticket was 86$, which no way we could afford, so we went for the second option: Train to Machu Picchu – Machu Picchu on a budget Take a bus to Hidroelectrica – Machu Picchu on a budget The second option is to take a bus to Hidroelectrica, and then walk 12km to Aguas Calientes from there.
