Hey all, I'm going to travel alone through the US this summer and was wondering how my current itinerary looks like. Open for suggestions regarding places to go, visit, stay, etc. Using airbnb mostly with hostels in some places. Short distances will be done by Amtrak, long distances will be flights. Important to know is I can't drive. Not that I'm 16-18 years old, just never had the need to learn. Boston (arrival): 3 nights New York City: 7 nights Philadelphia: 3 nights Baltimore: 2 nights Washington DC: 4 nights (maybe skip Baltimore and stay longer in DC? ) Miami: 6 nights (as I gather, there's less to visit than the previous cities. Would be sort of a 'recharge myself' kind of stay) New Orleans: 6 nights Houston: 5 nights Austin: 2 nights Portland: 3 nights Seattle (departure): 3 nights Unsure about the length of stay in Miami and afterwards. Is Orlando (Kennedy Space Center) doable with public transit and is there more to see besides the space center? (I don't really care for Universal Studios) I'm intentionally skipping San Francisco, LA, Vegas (and all the national parks in the west) because: I can't drive and these areas seem more difficult to navigate with public transport Will do a west coast focused road trip next year (after I learn how to drive and doing it with some friends as well).

Go along a bit later and dance the night away in the Sugar Store nightclub Take the floating bridge over to East Cowes, have a sundowner at the Lifeboat (the best place in Cowes to watch a sunset) and listen to a spot of live music Take the family up to Northwood House for the open air cinema or live theatre Or head up to Northwood House in the evening for the Lawn Lounge Grab the best spot in town for the fantastic Friday finale which includes the Red Arrows and late evening fireworks. Firefly House offers a haven of tranquility amongst the buzz of Cowes Week. An ideal base to stay at while you sail or spectate in Cowes Week, it is located very close to both Shepards Marina and the Yacht Haven. After a hard day's sail or spectating from the green, you will be back at the house for a hot shower in less than 10 minutes (3 showers). If anyone is arriving by car, there are 2 on-site parking spaces. The 4 bedrooms each sleep two in luxurious Hypnos beds, so your crew is certain to get a perfect night's sleep.

We are right on the Lochside Trail, a multi-use trail system that runs from the Swartz Bay ferry terminal all the way to Victoria and connects to the Galloping Goose for longer adventures if you feel like venturing out, but we think you will hardly want to leave the property! There's always some interesting wildlife to see including resident seals and river otters, bald eagles and a seasonal variety of waterfowl and migrating birds. Keep your eyes peeled for transient sea lions, dolphins and the occasional pod of orca whales. Binoculars are provided. Bring or rent kayaks, bikes, SUPs or a good pair of walking shoes for daily adventures, or just curl up by the fire and relax to the sound of waves on the beach.... more information Rates from $1585 per week 5 (Sleeps 10) House
