Bu0026B Accommodation On Iona
We would very much like to visit Brittany in some future year. We hope, God willing, to stay in Fionnphort from Monday, July 30 to Sunday August 5 - making trips to Iona by ferry almost every day. We have booked the Fionnphort village hall where there is dormitory accommodation for up to 12 people. We hope that these places will mostly be taken up by young people. Other pilgrims will stay in the comfortable bed-and-breakfast accommodation which we used in our 2005 pilgrimage. Metropolitan Kallistos has proposed that if possible, we celebrate the divine liturgy on Iona at least twice. He will also lead pilgrims round some of Iona's holy sites, and give a talk on the meaning of spiritual guidance in Orthodoxy Christianity. With his blessing I will give a talk one evening on Saint Columba's gifts of spiritual discernment. Volunteers will be needed to cook, sing and serve at the liturgy. Anybody interested in joining the pilgrimage should contact me on my personal email - - as soon as possible.

How we wish we could give Ardoran house 10 stars out of 5! :) Richard, our host, was just as hospitable, kind and helpful as could be... the rooms and bathrooms were as clean as could be, and the whole feeling of the house was "home". The decor was so artistic yet cozy - and the ocean view!!! Our first day there we saw a seal swim by outside our bedroom window... our experience there was just heavenly, and we can't wait to come back again!! And again!! Oh - and the breakfast was amazing, too! What a special place and special people too... many, many warm thanks! Everything was so clean and cozy!
An Orthodox Christian pilgrimage based in the village of Rostrevor on the east coast of Northern Ireland will take place, God willing, between July 2 and July 9. The programme will include daily acts of worship as well as talks, discussions and excursions connected with the Christian past of Ireland. Trips will be made to historic Christian centres such as Armagh and Downpatrick and some newly-excavated early monastic sites. Father John Nankivell will be pilgrimage chaplain, while Presvytera Georgina will look after the choir. The pilgrimage takes place under the aegis of Friends of Orthodoxy on Iona, with the warm blessing of FOI chairman Metropolitan Kallistos of Diokleia. We can offer full board, including excursions, at the following prices: young people or students living in dormitories for up to 10 people: £170. Other people in twin or double rooms: £275 per person. A single room: £350 per person. For details contact FOI secretary, Bruce Clark, on or or send a text message to 07909974519.

2 posts Iona B&B accommodation 11 years ago Myself and two friends looking to stay Iona four nights 8-11 August next. Backpacker Hostel, Duncraig retreat centre and most online B&Bs seemed booked out. Can anyone recommend one of the non-online B&Bs; eg Ruanaich, Clachan Corrach, Sithean, Tigh na Tobrach or Calva? Or some other viable alterbnative. Thankyou. Danny Cusack Kells CO Meath Ireland Level Contributor 44 posts 4 reviews 3 helpful votes 1. Re: Iona B&B accommodation Do you have to stay on Iona? or can you broaden your area to Isle of Mull? I was recently able to book a night for next week on Isle of Mull. August bookings are going to be hard to come by at this time of year since August is so busy so you might want to try Fionnphort or Tobermory area on Mull. This website has listings of lots of places- 9, 640 posts 68 reviews 55 helpful votes 2. I fear luckykate is right. Iona is a seriously popular destination, and it could easily be completely booked for that period. If you can find somewhere in Fionnphort, it's an easy short boat ride to pop across to Iona for day trips.
